Status:posting, kudos and replies are not live yet. The posts currently on the community page are samples that show the shape of the feed. These guidelines take effect for everyone the moment posting opens, and we’re publishing them now so nobody joins without knowing the terms.
1. Who these apply to
These guidelines apply to anything you contribute to Fitscapes — feed posts, comments, kudos, wishlists you make public, product reviews, images, and feedback you submit through the site. They sit alongside our Terms of Service; where the two overlap, both apply.
2. The short version
- Post your own training, your own results, your own gear.
- Disagree with the method, not the person.
- Don’t give medical advice you aren’t qualified to give.
- Don’t sell things here.
- If you wouldn’t say it in a gym to someone’s face, don’t post it.
3. What you must not post
As an intermediary under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we’re required to tell you clearly what may not be hosted here. You must not post, upload, share or transmit anything that:
- Belongs to someone else and that you have no right to.
- Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another’s privacy including bodily privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, libellous, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating to or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion or caste with intent to incite violence.
- Is harmful to a child.
- Infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right.
- Deceives or misleads about the origin of a message, or knowingly communicates information that is patently false or misleading.
- Impersonates another person.
- Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States or public order, or incites a cognisable offence.
- Contains a virus or any code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of a computer resource.
- Violates any law for the time being in force.
4. What we additionally don’t allow
Fitness communities fail in specific ways. These are ours to police, beyond what the law requires:
- Performance-enhancing and prescription drugs. No sourcing, dosing, cycling or coaching on anabolic steroids, SARMs, peptides, or prescription medication used off-label. Not in posts, not in comments, not in DMs arranged here.
- Disordered-eating content. No goal weights framed as targets to beat, no extreme-restriction protocols, no purging, no “what I eat in a day” at clinically unsafe calorie levels.
- Body shaming. Including the flattering-sounding kind.
- Medical advice.Sharing your experience is fine. Diagnosing a stranger’s pain, or telling someone to stop taking prescribed medication, is not.
- Spam, promotion and affiliate links. No coaching sales, supplement affiliate codes, or dropshipped-gear promotion. If you want to sell on Fitscapes, write to brands@fitscapes.in.
- Counterfeit gear. No sourcing, reviewing or linking replica products.
- Other people’s bodies without consent. No photos or video taken in a gym of someone who didn’t agree to be filmed.
5. Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting, you grant Fitscapes a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content on the platform for the purpose of running the feed, and to show it in the app’s own surfaces. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies retained in backups for the period described in our Privacy Policy.
We will not use your posts or photographs in paid advertising without asking you first.
6. Reporting something
Report content to grievance@fitscapes.inwith a link to the post and what’s wrong with it. In-feed reporting ships with the feed itself.
Our commitments, which follow the timelines set by the IT Rules 2021:
- Acknowledgement within 24 hours of receiving your complaint.
- Resolution within 15 days of receipt.
- Within 24 hoursfor content that exposes a person’s private area, shows nudity or a sexual act, or is impersonation including a morphed image — on a complaint by the person affected or someone acting on their behalf.
- Within 36 hours of a valid court order or notification by an authorised government agency, for the content it identifies.
Complaints go to the Grievance Officer named on our contact page.
7. What we do about breaches
Depending on severity and history, we may remove the content, limit your posting ability, suspend the account, or terminate it. Anything involving a child, a credible threat of violence, or non-consensual intimate imagery is removed and escalated to law enforcement without a warning step.
We’ll tell you what was removed and why, and you can dispute it by replying to that notice. Nobody moderates perfectly; we’d rather hear that we got it wrong than have you leave.
8. Our role
Fitscapes hosts what members post — it does not endorse it or check it for accuracy. We don’t pre-screen posts. Removing some content does not make us the author or publisher of the rest.
Fitscapes is not a significant social media intermediary under the IT Rules 2021 — those thresholds apply to platforms far larger than this one — so the additional obligations that attach to that category don’t currently apply to us. If we ever cross that line, this page changes with it.
9. Changes
We’ll update these guidelines as the community grows and teaches us what we missed. Material changes are announced in the feed, and the effective date at the top of this page moves with them.
